SL-23 Back up machine or new cartridge?

I picked up a SL-23 recently that is missing its cartridge. Should I buy another SL-23 with its original cartridge and buy a new needle or would you just buy a new cartridge / needle?

It's easy enough to replace either the stylus (needle) or cartridge. No need to buy another SL-23 if the one you have is in fine working order. I'm assuming your turntable has the replaceable headshell in place? If not, it's a readily purchased standard size item. Agreed:yes: What do you need the cartridge or the headshell and cartridge? If both, you can find a universal headshell for that table pretty easily.
