I have one of those that I did the same thing to, turned it into a manual, and I agree that it sounds pretty good this way. In fact, I like mine so much now that I keep it around as my one p-mount table!

I also like the P-mount carts, easy install! Nice tracking at 1.25 grams. I miss the cuing though.

If I were going to do something about those I'd remove them and then coat the underside of the platter. Those flippers probably buzz like hell!
