Very sad news. Thumbing through his lp's at thrifts will take on new meaning. He'll always be around at Christmas in Spirit.

Believe it or not, I have actually kept tabs on his career and knew that he was very ill. He fought the good fight, but it was time and another legend has departed. Luckilly I saw him a few years ago and I should be that spry and energetic in my 80s. A throwback to a seemingly more innocent time.

Thanks for everything Andy. There has never been a Christmas in my house without you and there never will be. You were a great performer and a class act.

Interesting bit of trivia I heard this morning - although he is best known for his rendition of "Moon River", it was never released as a single, so it never made the "charts" in it's own.

Don't know if that's true or not.
