My ears are bleeding
LOL. In my line of work I run into brand bigotry all the time, mostly against one brand that has been the top selling brand for over 150 years. Yes you read that correctly. Anyway, I would query what model of said brand they had and roughly 75% or more had NEVER owned that brand at all. They simply went based on opinions of others. Often strong and convincing. And of the people who OWN the brand? Better than 80% are totally pleased and would never consider trading for something else. The other 20%? Had they come to be to have their product checked and serviced by me, likely over half would still be using them. I'd go so far as to say 80%. I tell people I was trained by the best, my father. He was in the business over 50 years. Old school.Buy the way the Sansui SP-5000 are crappy everyone. :scratch2:
Don't listen to my praise I would prefer not having to fight over my next set.:sigh:
I hear the same thing about my Mach One speakers, and my Bose 901. Most of us go by ear and common sense. Hype is for people who want bragging rights and nothing more.
The OP, to me, sounds like they need reassurance they own the correct speakers. I don't see how we can help with that. I had three pairs of Mach One. I'm down to one functional pair and another set awaiting restoration (of sorts). But I'll likely be down to one pair as there ARE other speakers that perform better for some types of music I listen to. But the Mach One still hold their own. Some day QLS1. I'll just keep dreaming, while enjoying what I do have.
