Hi folks,
I have a problem with a Sony PSX 60 I bought from a nice elderly couple. It seems intact, the turnarm looks good, and the speed was holding when he demo'd it.
But the lifter mechanism is not working at all. I opened it up and the bottom was full of cobwebs. The web is full of advice how to fix the damping mechanism, but that seems to be OK. But the post seems frozen in the up position, and I'm worried to try to force it down- it's not making contact with the cam at all.
It seems to have some kind of pivot or something coming off the side of it too.
The platter was also frozen and needed lots of pulling, tapping hard, and then heating with a hairdryer and tapping again.
I think it's been in storage for a lot of years.
Please help! I believe this is a really nice turntable and i don't want to mess it up!
Thanks,
Ross.
