So I was able to source an original parts list off EB. Hated to part with $15 but some of the components are tough to identify without it!!

Quick question. I have seen through posts on this site and others that some 6050's had a 1000uF 100V filter cap and later models had 3300uF. Mine is 1000uF. Can I safely just upgrade to the 3300? Thanks!

Don't be surprised if there was a circuit change! Those who are more knowledgeable, post and let us know. Nice to know there was a revision.

I recently had my 6050 restored and I want to give a heads up to those who are going to do a full restoration on this unit and possibly the same issue with the 6040 is this line is known for having the FM Stereo go bad. People in the past made the mistake by installing a Generic Diode in the FM Section. This is wrong due to the fact the schematic is wrong. You need to install a Zenor diode where this is called out on the Schematic and this should fix the FM Stereo problem. I am not at liberty to use the Techs name that discovered this issue and did my restoration since he has recently retired. The 6050 is a nice sounding cap coupled unit and I hope the info I provided will help others.

My FM section still works pretty good and the stereo light comes on when decoding a stereo broadcast so I will probably leave it alone. Do you have a part number? ---just in case!!

FYI, they did make other circuit changes. I found a supplement service manual that shows they upgraded the bridge rectifier and they changed an 11k to a 10k resistor in the power supply board in conjunction with increasing the capacitance of the main filter cap to 3300uf.

The upgraded 5B4 rectifier is a 4 pin configuration (based on my homework) that replaces the stock 3 pin configuration (see pics). Unless someone knows how to make this work I will not install in a 3300uf main filter cap.
