Speaker ID Help Please

No, not hugely efficient. Depending on age (the older ones are more efficient than the new ones), they range from about 88dB @ 1w for the earliest versions (early 1980s or so), down to around 84dB @1w for the newest models of the Vandersteen 2 and 3.

Definitely sound good on tubes- IFF you have enough power. Less than 50w/ch probably need not apply. Less than 100w/ch need not apply on any of them made in the last 15 years.

They are Vandersteens, and if the rest of your system isn't up to them, changing the system would be a reasonable response.
The only speaker I've heard that made it obvious whether a drum set was set up on concrete or a wood floor. And not fussy like some speakers.
On the other hand, worth noting that you may need to refoam the passive, and maybe drivers. So don't buy them without listening, and if they aren't exceptional, assume the foam needs replacing, and bargain downwards.

If the price is right and I wind up getting them, I'd hook them up using my Luxman M-2000 power amp. I'm assuming this would suffice?
