Speaker protection..

I have a Kenwood KR-3130 receiver, does it have speaker protection?

One way to find out..
Is there a manual for it? Also, look for a fuse in the output path. If there is, its most likely for protection.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. No click at power on. It has a fuse in the back near the power outlets.

The fuse in the back is most likely a line fuse to protect the whole amp. There would be two more labelled speaker protection if they were there. I had a look at a schematic from the KR-2300, it has cap-coupled outputs, so a 1000uF cap is your only protection. My guess is the 3130 is the same.
