Speakers that sound so good you keep turning the volume up

My new Tannoy System 800s are so clear, undistorted and dynamic that I just keep wanting to hear more, and more dbs. :)

What speakers have you heard or that you own do you have that reaction to?

Well i grabbed a pair of energy pro 22s about two weeks ago and they have this effect also....................I will say one of the nicest audio finds I have found

A coinkydink you should ask today.

I was listening to Neil Diamond's early hits with my quad set up of original Advents (all four corners stacked) and I kept turning it up higher and it sounded better the louder it got.

It was one of those extra exciting times when you can't sit still. Like at a live performance.

i dont know how many times i listen to music at low volumes and by the time i turn it off its beacuse my wife is complaning. well it depends on what im listening to she will complain. for some reason the wife dont like kraftwerk thats some awesome stuff crankd test out the range your speaker can play for sure.

That is the way I have always felt about my Forte's. No matter how loud I turn them up they sound just the same only louder, clean clear undistorted.

My Altec Model 19's - I just keep pushing them louder and louder. I finally got a SPL meter to make sure that I'm not turning them up to loud.

If they don't sound good loud....I don't keep them.:D I may have to hook up the JBL L100t3's though. They've been sitting for a couple years. Everyone seems to like them.

All my speakers lol. But i can feed my HPM 100's some amazing juice, and they just keep asking for more. But at loud volumes they stay detailed in every respect. My big surprise with them, is they reproduce heavy guitar very well. Most older speakers couldnt do that imo.

my epicure 3.0's are the same way they sound amazing at listening levels but man when you give them the power the audio will stay nice and clean and balanced. i tell my wife shes lucky i dont have a bigger amp, i want to get a mono for each channel to poewr these bad boys.

I agree with the people who said L100t and t3. When I had them, I couldn't resist turning them up. They sound like they have no limit and are very undistorted. Haul out those L100t3's!!!

240Ti's. Instead of sounding strained and compressed like some of my smaller speakers, the big JBL's reveal more detail and image better the louder they go.

Which has lead to some embarrassing moments with my wife and visitors at the front door...

Yep, the JBL t3's are my go to speaker when it's time to move some air. I have a set of Cervin Vega D-8's that can get the job done too...but they can get a little harsh after a bit. A few tweaks on the dbx EQ and they mellow out nicely. The bass you get from the JBL 2214 woofer and a 15" CV woofer is downright addicting. Makes it hard for me to enjoy more refined speakers when I don't hear the full bodied punch to the body you get from the big JBL's and CV's.

My Klipsch Chorus II's....

Never had the volume on the Adcom past 11 cuz I think I'll blow something up; but Daaaaamn they sound Great Loud!!!!

Can't wait to juice them with 500+ watts of Crown power.....

Oooooh shivers!

:)
