Speakers you will NEVER sell.

I have a pair of HPM-100s, in my home office, connected to my Marantz 2265B, with a Pioneer PL-S50 turntable and a Sony CDP-CX355 CD juke box.

I purchased the HPM-100s in 1976 and the Marantz in 1978, the turntable was my Fathers, which I inherited 20 years ago (good thing since the wife sold my Marantz turntable and 5010 cassette deck in a garage sale).

I doubt I will part with the speakers, they still sound great and do not have foam surrounds, so I won't need to worry about that.

In the den I have a collection of Definitive Technology BP2002TL bi-polar powered towers and Pro-Cinema 200 center and surrounds, driven by a Sony STR-DA777ES.

I really like the Definitive speakers and will probably keep them for a long time too.

Actually, I only own one pair of speakers unlike all you minted north americans. I pushed the boat out big time to get my current speakers with the idea that I would not upgrade my hifi again. i.e. throw money at it and be happy. No more side grading.

I wouldn't sell my current speakers....as there would be no music :lmao:

They are Art Deco 8 Signatures, in Porsche macadamia paint code colour which is a lovely dark, burnt bronzey colour.

Here is terrible a picture I took :D

Anyway, the Arts are a joy to listen to. Try and critique them, you will end up just bopping to the music and forgetting about the hifi. They are transparent yet warm. There is no emphasis to any part of the frequency. I went for the Signature version which have Kondo KSL Spc copper internal wiring, and Jensen copper foil Coils and Caps in the crossover. This, to my ears, give such space, and atmosphere to the top end.

I have heard a lot of new details in familiar tracks, which is a good sign. They are very much about the music and conveying the emotion. Not very well known, but then the best things in life are always off the beaten track, huh?

I don't think I would ever sell any of my larger models of Infinity speakers.
RS-1
RS-1b
QLS-1
QLS-2
Kappa 9

But if I would sell the Kappa 9's if I had to upgrade to a Pair of IRS Beta's or IRS V, or a Pair of the Big Genisis speakers. I really like the older Infinity speakers but have been looking for a pair of AR9's, I have never heard a pair before but they look like they might sound good, and lots of people seem to really like them, I don't know how they compare to the Big Infinity's.

Old pair of Infinity Qa's. No grills, veneer peeling, dings, dents. I paid $10 off of CL. All drivers good and a recapped x-over. Sound great. They are so ugly that I would be very embarresed to sell them. If someone really wanted them I'd give them away, but I'd never sell them

I don't think I will ever sell my B&E DMII/MK2's. They seem to be somewhat rare, and image like nobody's business. Even if I upgrade to larger speakers with more SPL capability, I will keep these for the bedroom.

Well, that was written about 2 years ago and, of course they are gone. I sold them about a year ago after acquiring my current JBL's.

I don't, however, think I will ever sell my XPL-200A's. I can't get much better then those without spending serious money.

I would never sell my EPI'S m50's and m90's the most clear sounding speakers
I have owned, I have Rogers, Wharfedale, Advent, Dynaco's, ADS, and others.
Maybe it's just me, but I hear these speakers the best.
Thanks

Everything i have is for sale, (if the price is right). were all leavin this world exactly the way we came in. So i just try to keep the frame of mind that we are all just borrowing this stuff

My latest pair of AR 3a's. These were in rough shapw when I bought them and probably overpaid about 3-4 years ago. Needed woofer.

Now that they are done - they are amazing. Absolutely stunning sound. Now I may sell my other pair but not these :D

There is truth to be found in this thread.

[It'd be good if more fessed up to it.... :D ]

Janus 1W subwoofer. Still sounds good after 30 years and is a great looking coffee table with a 4' x 4' piece of beveled glass on it.

My JBL L150a's.

Not only did I pay ten dollars for them they are amazing in the sound they produce.

I will get more speakers; but not at the expense of selling these.

Ever.

Matt

Will never well my custom made EV corner horns, Altec A-7s, Allison A-5s, or JBL 4312a set. Each has terrific sound when paired to the proper amplifier - have many with which to experiment.

Would love to pick-up something like the Altec Valencias due to their furniture-like appearance....love the Dick Van Dyke theme...

I don't think I would ever sell much of anything, as I come from a family with a long heritage of collecting things. I was watching a show once on people who hoarded things, and the show made it look like it was some kind of illness, when I saw it I thought it looked like fun! When I saw it the only thing that I thought was wrong with them was they kept all their stuff in the same old small home, My family just buys a larger home or warehouses. One of our recent purchases was a Ford Model T assembly plant building three stories with a freight elevator, now we have plenty of room to get more stuff.
