The US has a border with Scotland.
It's called Bourbon.

Yeah but it is US Spelling, which isn't English.![]()
Oh it's English alright.......we just love to butcher the hell out of it. (Might add you Aussies do a damn fine job too!)
I'm the complete oppositeI have plenty to say, but not worth hearing :sigh: all jokes aside you could always do what I actually did, and when I found my record collecting getting out of hand a few years ago $120 a week spend up on records, I needed something to distract me and it was learning the guitar....and it worked I'm good  I play the acoustic on a Yamaha and play stuff I like to listen to like "Over The Hills and Far Away" give it a shot, it is truly well worth the effort. :thmbsp:
I do play. I have a little APX500 that I play, but I really should do it more often.
I have spent the last few weeks clearing out my record collection, about 400 LP's checked and boxed, some went to charity shops and some on freecycle so I'm down to a more manageable sized collection now, just the cleaning to take care of.
I think I'd like down under except for all the irritating Aussie surf contest announcers.
In this thread about being speechless we have covered:
Animal Farm
Geography and History
Surfing
Higher Math
Bourbon
Radio Announcers
Record Hoarding
This is only post #50
Well the US does maintain the use of a system of units derived from the British Imperial System of measurement. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperial_units ). Alongside such luminary nations as Liberia and Myanmar The US resists the Global Standard of the Metric System(admittedly your Dollar is metric). Eventually you'll catch-up with the rest of the planet. Maybe you'll learn English while you're at it. :thmbsp:
Not sure where that resistance stems from, perhaps industry bucking the cost of retooling and all that sort of thing. Yet here we are decades later and most of us grunts have two sets of wrenches in our tool boxes and our manufacturers are a mish-mosh of both systems.
And here I sit at five in the morning looking at Wikipedia entries of Aussie slang. (Is that taking the piss? Did I get that right?)
Maybe I should take a cue from the OP and just go listen to my music.
Peace, y'all.
Yup! The real difference is that when "God Save The Queen" is played we Americans make a decision whether to rise of not. True colonials don't think you just rise.![]()
