Just picked these up the other day. Saw them at Cash Converters took a pic and went home and read the reviews. Went back the next day and got them. Very happy with the purchase. They are in my computer setup for now. They sound amazing. 20181120_204251.jpg

Congrats, always wanted to get in front of a pair.

With their calling card being imaging. U feel like your getting the effects with that placement? Looks like u diffinetly made the best out of the space you have.

I just have to sit back just a little to get the 3d images. Really very nice

Soggy salutations para Sactown, butch4695. Your Spica T-50s were rated Class C - Restricted LF in Stereophile's October '92 Recommended Components issue. $550-a-pair retail, stands necessary. Description: "The coherence and imaging of the middle to upper midrange rival the Quad and LS3/5a and would be considered excellent in a speaker of any price; at $550 they're a steal. Only significant drawback is the absolute need for the listener to be sitting with his or her ears on the optimum axis, the sound otherwise becoming too lean. On the optimum axis, the high frequencies roll off above 16 Khz, the midband is rather forward-balanced, and the low end is designed to be very controlled down to the lower limit of about 55 Hz. This later aspect makes the TC-50 perfect for matching to a subwoofer - a pair of Kinergetics BSC-SW100s with their stands and matching amplifier are ideal. Easily damaged by amplifier overload. Latest version features a crossbrace between front and rear panels". 73s-n-Happy Holidays para Sactown

Stereophile got it right with that review. I've owned a pair for 20 years and plan to take them to the grave. Back in the day it was a cheapskate audiophile thing to pair these with NHT sealed subs like the Sub Two I've got, and run the Spicas with a Dynaco Stereo 70 tube amp (which were super cheap at the time) and let NHT do the heavy lifting. Worked really well in a fairly large room and kept the tonal balance from sounding too lean off axis. Now I've got them in a bedroom system, no sub, and use them mostly for jazz at which they excel. Depending on your musical taste you might find the bass perfectly adequate. Enjoy!

The TC50 Kinergetic combo is outstanding.

The tweeters are available and relatively cheap, if you loose a woofer it would be an issue. I recapped mine, this made a huge difference. After pulling the original caps I tested them, they were so far off I’m pretty sure this is why I lost a tweeter.

I have always wanted to hear that stack.... T50's continue to be on my radar.

All of my friends give me a hard time about selling that set. According to them it had been the best set of speakers to date, just worked well in my space. The guy I sold them to is a vintage Audio retailer, he kept them for his own collection. When properly set up they are really very good. In retrospect I should have kept them, they were in excellent cosmetic condition from the original owner. The woofers are impressive, sealed Seas woofers going down to 30hz with little drop to 17hz.
