Splicing tape?

splicit.com has it as does the bay. You want splicing tape other tapes ooze and that will screw up a machine to possibly destroying the motor. Apply to the outside of the tape cause you are going to be listening, recording on the inside of the tape.
 
A splice and tape block is really the trick to doing this correctly. One side taping using splice tape is all that is needed. I haven't done it in years, but having the right tape and tool makes all the difference.
