When splicing R2R Tape what is tho correct amount of Splicing Tape to use? Thanks

Half an inch or so works well for me. I use tweezers to handle the splice.

I mean, I don’t think anyone sits there with a ruler. Is “just a little bit” a close enough measurement, lol? The length of my thumbnail?

I buy 1/2 wide splice tape, run it perpendicular and trim. Easy and consistent.

Knowing me I'd probably use my whole hand,lol

For splices I use about 1" of TME 1/4" archival splicing tape. I also use a splicing block when applying the splicing tape. If I need to cut the recording tape, I use ceramic scissors to avoid introducing a pop at the point where the tape is cut.
