How about Jerrys stereo in Seinfeld. I remember some big Cerwin Vega speakers on the floor with the grills removed. You could clearly see the red CV woofer surrounds.
There was a thread similar to this hear at AK awhile ago I can't find so here's some I remember.
"The Departed", Matt Damon's character's apartment had some modern McIntosh gear.
"High Fidelity" John Cusack's character's apartment had If I remember correctly some vintage Sansui gear not sure what TT he had though.
There was a Jason Statham movie were he had a tube amp and a pretty esoteric high-end TT
I cannot quite fathom excitement about movie/media props.
I thought that was only a bonus scene on the DVD?Speaking of "High Fidelity"....I watched that entire movie recently just for the scene where the hot wife is trying to sell her cheating husband's LP collection....and the network cut out the ENTIRE scene!![]()
Here is a better image of Gene Hackman's sweet-ass mono hifi in The Conversation: reel-to-reel, amplifier, turntable, and speaker. I am not sure about the amp. Is that a Stromberg Carlson?

It’s a great scene, it’s in the book as well. Highly recommend the book if you haven’t read it!I saw the movie on broadcast TV....don't remember the channel, and I don't have the DVD
Ah, but do you have a licensed copy of the Maltese Falcon, or a copy of the 4 foot diameter Jupiter 2 Special effects model? I do.I cannot quite fathom excitement about movie/media props.
