SX-1250 on Audiogon

The seller contacted me and said there are people ahead of me in line and that he will contact me if someone drops out.

Oh yes, attached is the photo he sent me: No, I did not resize it - this is the size it was when I got it - hardly bigger than my AK avatar.......

Not much to go by in terms of judging the specimen.

All the best,

Got it!

Got it!

I was second in line, the first interested buyer pulled out for some reason or another. Faceplate in pristine condition, cabinet in near pristine condition. Serviced six months ago with receipt, original manual. Smoke and pet-free. Seller will doublebox with thick styrofoam liner. Easy and relatively inexpensive shipping to CA from NM.

Have been thinking of getting hold of a SX-1250 for awhile. I didn't have the strength in me not to get this one. It will replace the rack of SPEC's I recently passed on to a fellow AK'er. Thanks to Stormy for alerting me to the listing:thmbsp: .

All the best,

EDIT: Now, who wants to predict the winner of the 160wpc finals shootout; Concept 16.5 vs. Pioneer SX-1250?

The answer to this is an easy one....Neither.

The Sansui G-9000 wins hands down :D

I had that shoot-out with the black-faced SX-5590 and a G-9700 and a few other TOTL receivers. The Concept 16.5 is still here and the others have gone on to good homes.
The SX-1250/5590 is one of my very favorites.

My bet is the G-9000 wins too. But let's face it, you can't go wrong with any of these three.

NN, Congratulations on getting one of the finest vintage receivers ever made.

Nothing to be too concerned out, guys, I stated this on purpose in a way hoping it would ruffle some feathers!:D

All the best,

Congrats & welcome to the SX-1250 Club.

Of all the gear I have or will have, my 1250 is the piece that will never be sold.

Happy listening !
