Could just be dirty switches or controls.

You gonna take it in for repair, dive in yourself and fix it, open it up and rebuild/restore the unit or what.

hi avionic i cleaned most switches with deoxit and i replaced the r3 resistor on power supply assy. i did not think it was the problem but it was HOT and turning the board brown.
i think i will try to clean the relay but its hard to get at?

Also welcome to AK from my side. When the receiver is cutting in and out, do you hear the relay clicking? If so, there could be a problem on the protection circuit board (AWH-025). Like a faulty transistor.

Not sure if you are still around but if you have not figured it out yet.
In order for the group to best help, you need to better describe your problem.
Does it cut in & out on every source?
Are there any specific things that cause it, like higher volume levels?
Does the problem seem random?
If it cuts out does it come back on it's own or do you do something to make it come back?
Dirty switches seem to be the most common cause of random loss or distorted audio. The signal travels through many switches on the way to the amplifier, any one of which can cause problems. You said you cleaned most of them already which ones have you not cleaned?
Next most common problem is dirty controls.
As @lumoStoria asked do you hear the relay click on/off when it cuts out?
A "dirty" relay can usually be made to behave for a bit by goosing the volume control up a bit and back down. Not a permanent fix but it can help diagnose the problem.
You can also lightly thump the relay case with a non metallic object and see if the sound cuts in & out or changes at all.
Cleaning a relay is not a spray it and close it situation. Some folks have good luck cleaning them. Squirt some cleaner on a sliver of business card and slide it between the contacts. Gently apply pressure to the moving contacts bar and slide the card back and forth.
IMO if you are going to the trouble of taking the cover off the relay (not easy in most situations) then you might as well replace it and call it a day. I have done a lot of repairs and rebuilds on vintage gear and better than 50% of them have required new relays to be reliable.

Resurrecting this thread with the same problem, same model. My son left a stack of a few gatefold jackets over the vent a while back while playing an album. I was in another room, unaware. Started cutting on and off - I went in and saw the stack, yanked it off the top and from that moment on, once the unit warms up a little, it cuts on and off.

Took it to get it serviced, fully recapped, cleaned, relamped - the whole nine. Problem persists. Shop suggested it’s a speaker or wire issue and to test one at a time. I did, problem replicated with individual speakers connected. I’m convinced it’s a fault in the protection circuit board as suggested above. I don’t think that would have been addressed in the refurb, even though this was the issue described from the beginning.
I’m on the verge of saying to hell with it. White Cloud, did anyone ever fix your unit?

I think the issue is the phono jack. Bigger issue....
