"MAMA MIA ! RICARDO !" Hehehehehehe...An' I didn't think HE was tryin' all that hard, either. My dad certainly was no racing driver, but I remember one time, he "Got" one of the local Hot-Rodders" but good...He had a '66 250 SL Mercedes, the little "Pagoda-Roof" coupe/roadster, it stuck to the road like GLUE. 4 wheel discs, IRS, the whole 9 yards. He took this guy, Warren Ray, who was a "Hot" driver, for a ride out to the local golf course & back. Before they were halfway out there, Warren Ray was down in the floorboard, praying to Jesus...Another time, my dad, Henry, his brother, Karl, & another guy went to Knoxville to a UT football game, in Karl's Jaguar, the model before the XKE. Henry was driving, Karl was holding on to the dash w/a death grip, going, "HENRY ! HENRY ! Slow DOWN...Dammitt, Henry, SLOW DOWN..." Daddy said every time Karl started whining, he'd go that much faster...There's ONE great big long straight stretch down thru there, they'd been following a Caddy sedan doing about 100 or so, Henry got him in that straight, the guy sittin' in the rear of the Caddy just grinned & waved as they went by...After the football game was over, their 3rd passenger wouldn't ride back home w/'em...He took the train...(grin)
