I'd also like to mention that Oingo Boingo Dark at the end of the tunnel is OUTSTANDING! Unless you're a punter!

Yo V.D. why do you hang with us old guys? What draws you here as compared to your peers?

If you cannot tell, I am what is known as an old soul, and I consider my peers to mostly be immature, and too arrogant, and shallow. I also have some strange interests (at least in my peers' eyes ), and you guys are the best forum on the web. I used to lurk in a lot of them, and I can see that there is nothing better than AudioKarma. I learn a lot of information that I could ordinarily never learn, and I get to look at the systems that people have put together out of their love for music. I also drool over gear that I cannot yet afford (as I am sure everyone here did/still does), and it is probably some of the same stuff that you all used to drool over, especially reel to reel decks and speakers.

In short, it's just a great place to be, and I could not think of another place on the web that I enjoy more.

Oh, I agree completely. Perhaps my question went beyond that though, You do realise that everyone at your age takes on a "persona" and what you decide to be IS what you are. I've written a dozen responses to what you've said but I haven't been able to describe how it works so I've deleted them. BE who you want to be. Don't let others decide who/what you are, stake your own ground and be that person.

I have MADE the decision to be who I am, and I have not let others decide much of anything pertaining to my life. As my mother says: You are the artist of your own life.

I know who I am, at least I think I do, and I am comfortable with how I see myself. I do want to change myself physically, but on an emotional and life level, I am content, and would not have chosen any other path. I let others suggest what they would like, but in all finality, I am the the decision maker, the one person who controls my life is me.
