Tape for acoustic foam?

3M strong double-sided tape doesn't stick to 2" acoustic foam. What tape can I use?

Not an answer to your question, so sorry if doesn't help what you're trying to do, but I use 3M Super 77 to attach acoustic foam to cardboard, then hang the cardboard on the wall.

If drywall is the wall material one can use Seamstress pins to secure the acoustical foam tiles, at least that is working very well for me for well over ten yrs.
Maybe try quality double sided gaffer`s tape, if wishing to go the tape route.

try using 3M 468 adhesive tape. I believe it's available in 12" x 12" sheets and rolls.

And as when the foam starts to deteriorate/break down as my 1995 first installed living room`s front wall covered eventually did, close to 20 yrs. later, easy peasy replacement.

it's worth noting that foam does almost nothing to damp acoustic reflections compared to other solutions such as felt, which is much denser or thicker panels made from fiberglass board. If it works at all, it operates on a very narrow bandwidth because it lacks density to really address room modes and reflections.
