They continued the series for years but it got radically different. 1984.8
It kind of morphed into a girls stereo system but I do love the pink and I'm a sucker for tray-loading turntables. While Technics didn't have a boombox with a turntable (this looks pretty close), JVC (also partly owned by Matsushita) did have a larger TT boombox that looked like this.

That’s why it looked familiar, I own a physical copy of that catalogue. I own enough now where I have to sometimes go double check.

I came close to buying that exact system, but I stopped myself as I don’t want to become a collector, just a user with one system. There’s something about the colour red with boomboxes and older stereos that tickles my fancy.
