The Technics headshells with single screw in the top, as on SL-1300, etc.... Any idea what one might be worth?

Thanks! At that price point, would it be expected that the plastic cartridge mounting bracket was included with headshell?

It has a plastic mounting plate. The headshell is metal. Have one on my SL-1650. Replaced with a SL-1200 MKII headshell, better sounding. Stripped the holes on the cheap plastic mounting plate.

Yes, I own a few and they're all plastic. You gotta be careful what size screws you use, too large and like mentioned you can strip the holes. Without the insert the headshell is pretty much useless unless you can somehow jigger something to work in it's place. $30 does seem like a price where you could get one at, and yes that should include the insert. I personally wouldn't pay more, they turn up quite frequently on epray and with some patience you should be able to find one at that price point.
