Technics SL-1200 mk2 feedback from toughing tone arm?

I've been getting feedback from just touching the headshell arm or the tone arm. Am I going to have to replace the tonearm wires or maybe the ground is bad? Thanks all.

Cut the connector off the end of the ground wire, stripped and added a new connector, and the hum is noticeably reduced.

The ground connection may be bad or the wire is corroded. How old is the table?
