Someone tell me about the heat srink mod for my 1210 M5G tone arm.
Put heat shrink on the arm.

...and don't forget to figure the added weight into your resonance calculations.Yes the plumbers Teflon tape made a slight difference on the arm of my SL1500 Technics. It takes a bit of practice to get it wrapped neatly, but the good thing is you can wrap and unwrap it till you get it to look good. I found that if you keep it tight buy putting a bit of a pull on the spool of tape it wraps better and tighter.
Just a update:
Received both items today!I really won't get a chance till the weekend to give it a good going over but I will give my review then.
:thmbsp::thmbsp: for PCNation! Super service super price and super duper fast shipping!

Finally had a chance to set everything up and give it a go......must say I'm very impressed with the SL-1210M5G and the AT440MLa combo. They seem to be made for each other.:thmbsp:
Setup was pretty straight forward. But as usual mounting the cart was a little tough.....or maybe it's just my old age that makes things a little tougher than it use to be....
First piece of vinyl to go on was the "The Beatles" Original Recording Master White album. What a joy it was to sit back and listen to some good old music! oh, and the sound was fantastic.
I'm really going to enjoy this new addition to my setup for many years to come.
The only issue I'm having so far, not the fault of the TT or cart, is LF feedback when playing at loud volumes. I included a few pics of my setup and you can see the table with the TT is relativity close to the speakers. The speakers are AR9's and they can really pump some bass! Until I can find a better way to isolate the TT I'll just have to keep the volume down.
Anyway, anyone thinking of getting a new TT at a moderate $$$ will be very happy with the SL-1210M5G! And I think it's one sexy looking piece of equipment.
I also included a pic of my favorite TT......Wurlitzer 2200![]()

Please list the equipment I am dying to know the rest of the setup.

Nice system! ...but yeah, the speakers are almost coupled to the walls as far as proximity. I can't see behind them; but, I would imagine there are no bass traps behind them. So, essentially you've got the corner placement of the speakers intensifying the amount of bass energy that's already coming from the spkrs and the TT is sitting right in that field. As good as the Technics is, I'm not surprised you're having a bit of an issue.
...just a thought...

Here's the list:
SL-1210M5G TT
AT440MLA cart
Carver C-19 preamp
Carver C-9 Sonic Holography Generator
2 - Carver TFM-45 amps. (One is at Rita's Vintage Audio Repair for rebuilding, the other will have the same done)
Carver TFM-25 amp.....might throw my extra subwoofer on it just for kicks!
AR9 (1980's originals) speakers. The surrounds have been replaced and XO have been rebuilt. Each speaker is vertically biamped to the TFM-45's
Sony 5 disc Cd changer
Audio Source EQ-200 graphic equalizer
ReVox B77 RTR (this thing sounds fantastic!)
Nothing special, but sounds very good.
The AR9's are designed to be placed against the wall, I know that sounds odd but that's what AR recommended. Maybe I could pull them out a bit to reduce the bass output.
here's a excerpt from the manual about speaker placement:
Interesting suggestion about the dust cover. I never have mine on when playing. I may have to test that out. I'll have to go with just about all of the previous suggestions of anchoring the spkrs and controlling floor resonance and/or using footers or some type of isolation platform. I think I was looking at AutoBot's rig. Those spkrs are huge! They'd tear my listening room off from the rest of the house. My bad! LOL! I was looking at the wrong pics. I ordered the hinges from KAB. Great service from them!
