Nice pics.

Original output tubes. You'll want to get those tested. Highly desirable if they are still strong.

I see some wood working in your future to fix those chunks of veneer that are missing.

I also see some new knob brights and festoon lamps for the dial in your future.

Great score.

Using one of those cord switches that some lamps use is another one.

I always hated those "thumbwheel" cord switches,as they never lasted very long when used with anything other than a 60W lightbulb, even though they were rated at something like 6 Amps. They always seemed to be arcing and sparking, haha:

I think the one you are referring to is the newer model that uses an actual rocker switch in a very nice housing, available in brown or white. They rate it at 3 Amps, but I'm guessing they are going on the conservative side:

That’s the one I’m using, received a discount for buying in bulk and installed them on several devices....

I'm honestly not a big fan of those in-line switches either but I'll take that over an extra hole in the front panel any day. "Better than a sharp stick in the eye" as my mother would say.

To fix the power switch you might need a donor :
https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/fisher-500c-power-switch.26263/

There is a new production on ebay
Otherwize, mount a new powerswitch somewhere on the front panel or make some other arrangements.
Do not drill any holes in front panel! Power switch failure is common on these. Many of us that have Fisher gear of this vintage either bypass the busted switch & use external switching , like on a power switch or convert an existing front panel switch to use for power switching (not for me, though).
