Thanks AK, and farewell (for a time)

[Jailtime]

I just wanted to thank all the great AK members who have helped me with all my vintage audio questions. Thanks to AK, I got my Marantz 2235B up and running, and now she's getting restored. I'm going to miss all the great folks here for the 2 months I'm gone. I'll be at Lackland AFB for Air Force basic training for a while, but you can bet I'll be back to AK, hopefully with some new electronics knowledge I'll get in the AF. :thmbsp: Farewell (for a time) AK! :sadwave:

[SPL db]

Good luck in basic training and thanks for your efforts!

Be sure to check in when you can and keep us updated! :thmbsp:

Fare thee well young man! My Uncle (Mom's brother) went through basic at Lackland in '53, not too long after the the Army Air Corp became the USAF.

Be safe, and learn everything they'll teach you.

You picked a good time of year to go to Lackland.I went through basic there in late October '84.I really enjoyed San Antonio those few times we were allowed to go out and see the town.Just remember-its only a few months, and the real Air Force is much more "user friendly"
I still know how to fold my underwear in 6 inch squares.:scratch2:
Good luck to you,and thank you for your service.Im sure we all appreciate it.

Thanks for all the kind words, folks. I'll be back as soon as I can, I'm sure that there's no time in basic to hit the 'net.

Hope you enjoy "Happy Valley as much as I did" NOT!!! Just remember you get out of the Airforce what you put into it.My best advice..Blend in, don't stand out.Don't volunteer for anything!! Good luck & Enjoy your time at Lackland. Your tech school will be much easier.

[Ausjoe]

If you are leaving soon you may go through basic before winter ever starts. You may start wondering does it ever get cold. Believe me this time of year is much better than summer in south Texas.

Good luck and be safe.
