That One Damn Vinyl Lp

But my all time sought after LP has to be T.P./Heartbreakers "She's the one" from 1996. Perhaps THE most rocking Heartbreakers record of all time and certainly since their first two records. It was released on Vinyl but . . . . . I CAN NEVER EVER FIND IT!!!!!!!!! :no::sigh: :smoke:

Considering that the jukebox 45s of "Fade Into You" sell for over $20, I'd take any Mazzy Star vinyl at a reasonable price...but I was talking about the LP. Didn't notice that I'd brain-cramped and put the song title down instead of the album. Rather dumb, as I've had the CD for 15 years.

I think I'm going to send my mom the link for that "She Hangs Brightly" re-release. She's been wondering what to get me for Christmas. :D

. . . yeah, I hear you loud and clear. Just to have any of their somewhat limited catalog is something to be happy about, which was why I was so surprised and shocked to come upon the pre-order for "She Hangs Brightly", which I really do think is one hell of an accomplished first record for a new band. (though Roback had been on the scene for a while now with Rain Parade and one more group I can't seem to remember. (OPEL?) The only thing I have on Vinyl by them is a 12" single for "Fade Into You" which certainly did and does sound flipping amazing on wax. (HERE'S TO THEM RE-RELEASING THE OTHER 2 ALBUMS AS WELL AS THE UNRELEASED LIVE RECORD THAT NEVER SAW THE LIGHT OF DAY IN CONJUNCTION WITH THEIR NEW 4TH RECORD SOMETIME NEXT YEAR. . . . . followed by some touring, I hope. :D :smoke: )
 
I cannot spill the beans on my "ultimate" album.

I've bought a half dozen impossible to find records from London, and a few from Germany, Japan and the Netherlands though.

I can land that elusive album for $50 overseas, and if I can fatten my rainy day money, I'm hoping of landing it this week or next. There's a few copies available.
 
Regarding Mazzy Star-

Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions new CD is available, also they re-issued Bavarian Fruit Bread.

I imagine the vinyl will follow, though it may take a while. The Devendra Banhart LP release of "When Smokey Rolls Down Thunder Canyon" took around a year....
 
I HAVE to pick up some of Hope's post-Mazzy work. Here's hoping for that "So Tonight..." LP re-release...
 
Finally got around to picking one up ebay. Vanilla Fudge , "The Beat Goes On" $10.00 near mint condition. I sat here and listened all the way through without any interruptions. Big Smile !!
 
Just got mine 2 days ago.

Donald Fagen: 'Nightfly'. Brand new orgional LP, still sealed. I'll just keep it that way for a long long time. $7.00. Got another copy that sounds fine but skips in 2 spots, just a one groove skip, no biggie now...when you have a 'brand new one in storage'! :>) The skip won't drive me nuts anymore, well, it really never did, but it's a bunch much better now!

I don't particularly want the remastered 180g version, and stores around me never seem to get used copies of the original press. I have all of their other LPs, but this is the one I can never find outside of stupid ebay.

TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS - "SHE'S THE ONE", 1996.
(ONE OF THE BEST HARD ROCKERS OF THEIR CAREER! Oh, I cannot hardly even bare to even think about it anymore, and I'm dead serious; it's painful. I've hust accepted that everyone has just held fast to their copy, not that I can blame them, I suppose.)

AC/DC's "STIFF UPPER LIP", 2000. (My third favorite slab o' Acca/Dacca of all time.

Wasn't Stiff Upper Lip only released on vinyl in Europe? I don't recall ever seeing it released here in the States.
 
I'd really be happy with any Van Der Graaf Generator or Peter Hammill LPs. Haven't come across any in stores, and I don't do Ebay (long story). Also looking for the first Soft Boys album, A Can Of Bees. Or either of the first two Savage Rose albums.

both seem rare around here and I won't pay ebay prices.

A local shop had a Van de graaf record not too long ago, "The aersol grey machine", would have picked it up if I knew somebody wanted it. Gave it a listen and passed, wasn't bad, but I was expecting some heavy psych, and was already getting a couple albums. May have to check again:scratch2:.

Not many "dream" albums here, unless I happen to run into them in the wild, were most lp's suddenly become "just what my collection is missing":D. I will agree with xjustinx, and expand that most metal albums (especially, if not exclusively, reissues) are very hard to find. May be slightly regional as well, I wouldn't expect many spare metal records in central KY...
 
It took years of looking but I found The Zombies "Oddesey and Oracle" on vinyl and The Left Banke "Walk Away Rene" on Music Stack. The Left Bank LP was a Greek pressing or something. I think I paid $30 or so, new. I paid about the same for the Zombies. I was very happy to pay it. The Zombies LP sounds much better than the CD I have, which is quite bright sounding. The Left Bank LP sounds great too. I will buy music on CD but generally prefer it on vinyl.
