The transformers have been made! Transcendar wound them, although I believe he has sadly retired now. The project is still in the making
If in need of transformers you might contact Dennis Had (now Inspire amps as he has retired from Cary) and find out who he uses.
Wow, hopefully we'll get some posts from that project as well. If you're willing to share, I'm curious if you're doing something resembling the original circuit, or more of a clean-sheet design? Did you have to send in a transformer for analysis/dissection?

I used solid silver for the ground bus because it does not oxidize green like copper. It's super easy to solder and bend. I like it.
It's not expensive really, and I bought mine on Ebay.

Mostly original circuitry with some enhancement, and new PS from scratch as the PT is custom, as the choke.
Yes, one OT was sacrificed unfortunately, but then we could review and enhance it with Gery. Interesting design for that time.

I've been seeing that one on the auction site. Congrats on winning it -- looks great.
I considered it, but already have my two husks to restore. Sometimes it is almost a shame to see relatively obscure orphan amps go for so little. You know they are worth a lot more, but not many around who are willing to hunt and unite them. And of course the flipside is someone gets a deal!

Yea, I was lucky today. I'm a bit hesitant to do anything to this beside put a toggle switch on it.There has been a little work done to it already. 4 of the resistors are newer and it has those diodes. Of course I'll have to see what the mate is like when one turns up. I can overpay on the next one if I have to and not feel too bad about it. These tubes are the same as 6L6s aren't they? The SND guy says they are. Can get a matched quad for $80, I think.

The original ground schema is not the best, that's why.
And adding bias set and balancing pots is a must IMO, so you can run 6L6G to GC biased correctly.
I've tried the Russian equivalent of 6L6 in these and they rock.
On mine I run new TungSol 6L6G (ST old style coke bottle), they look good and last forever.

Do "cock bottle" tubes require a cod-piece?
I had a pair of them once, and had a bottom chassis fabricated for the I/O and for support (the flanged-edge bottoms didn't do much for me).
I thought the amps were mediocre after rebuilding them, to be honest. Also, if a 6SN7 wasn't in really good shape, it could cause the output tube to red-plate.
