Skip the road trip. Checked back later with the estate sale and it was gone, sold about 5 hrs into the day. There are several other AKers in town, maybe one of them got it? Anyway yeah the 'vibes' were a combination of things, primarily that my garage and basement already packed with too many projects and secondly the wife not caring much for the particular style style (even though I liked it) so if I bought it it would likely be gutted. Now it stands a 50/50 chance of staying in tact which would be nice. The money was't a big deal, heck that's a night for two at the movies anymore. My heart just wasn't into this one. I knew even before I started out it was probably just a reconnoissance mission.
Damn. I love the mid-century styling on that setup. I've never seen a Fisher quite like that, though I've seen similar cabinets from other companies.
