The Good Morning (Your First Logon for the Day) Thread

Good morning. It’s 38°F going to 42. It’s raining and looks like it will continue doing that for a few days with a chance of some snow. Nothing to shovel but it’s time to getting to stay inside hobbies.

I met up with the Portrait Painters group at the library yesterday for a couple hours and did some sketches (I’m not much of a painter) of the model. Today I meet up with the Urban Sketchers. Due to the weather we’ll be inside at a coffee shop. I like sketching interiors and occasionally the other patrons.
 
Good Morning,

We drove back from Maine on Friday. First half of the drive was fine, from Boothbay to Wells. We biked 10 miles in Wells, ate our lunch, bought a lobster for Daughter, and headed south.
Traffic was very slow, all brake lights and stop and go from the beginning of 495 down to Bolton/Harvard, then again at 290, then slow into Worcester and slower still in Worcester with an accident on the other side.
Probably the slowest drive home ever. Then only thing worse than heading South was the traffic going North. Miles and miles of backup.
Too many people on the roads.

Mrs. will be retired next year at this time, so we never have to travel over Columbus Day weekend again.

Yesterday we did laundry and got settled back in.
Grocery shopping today.
We'll get a few more rides in this week. Monday and Thursday look like great weather, Old Saybrook and East Bay respectively.
Wednesday morning our 5 ton of pellets are arriving, and we have tix for the WB Mason show at Foxwoods for early afternoon....plenty of free pens and whatnot. Maybe visit Mystic after that.

My buddy Kurt is driving up from SC on Friday, spending the weekend with us, then returning with his wife next Thursday for another weekend together.
I'm planning on attending the Frankenfest on Saturday with Kurt.

We'll be eating the last of the oysters and little necks for dinner.

Raked and cut front lawn yesterday.
Will do the back on Monday.
Cleaning bathrooms today.
