Good morning, It’s 63°F going to 67. A big storm is coming in and we are supposed to get our first snow tomorrow and Monday.
With the storm coming in, the Montana Department of Transportation announced they would be closing the Beartooth Pass for the season at 2:30pm on Friday, yesterday. That was all the incentive I needed (not that I ever need a lot) to get the motorcycle out and go across the pass one more time this year.
After the gum, I loaded up and was on the road a bit before 10am. I rode to Red Lodge and my first stop was at the sign marking the beginning of the Beartooth Highway.

Then it was a cruise to the top. It was very nice out but the wind was high, very high. I stopped at the top for the usual photo.

Then it was done the west side and a ride to Cooke City. Along the way I stopped for a photo with Pilot Peak in the background.

After a gas stop it was on to Yellowstone National Park. The ride there was great.

Of course, there was plenty of wildlife but the tourist count was down.

After a stop at the Roosevelt Arch I rode north through Paradise Valley and then grabbed the slab (AKA the freeway) and rode back to Billings. A 362 mile day.
