One of my all-time favorite groups. In the late 60's and early 70's, the Roots cranked out some of the best pop-rock in the business. Rob will be missed.

I guess he'd been ill for a while as one of my FB freinds complained about how she went to see them last summer and he was out sick.

Great 60s band, I always cranked them up on the Top 40 AM

RIP Rob Grill

Grill sustained a head injury after a fall in San Francisco. He was breathing on his own after the fall but was in a coma.

Sorry to hear one of the greats is gone, His songs are my clearest memories from my youth and I still think they are great.

Sad to hear, "Midnight Confessions" was a great tune. They were actually a studio band on the West Coast, some good musicianship and harmonies there.

Interesting trivia: one of the members, Creed Bratton, now plays "Creed" on "The Office" (he's my favorite character).

Saw them perform in Gulfport MS at a seedy bar about 1983. A long way from their heyday but they still played their hearts out.

Very sad news. :tears: I really liked their music when growing up... and still do.

R.I.P., Rob Grill. Thanks for the music :music: and the memories!

Sad to hear. Just interrupted by afternoon of jazz to play The Grassroots All Time Greatest Hits. One of my favorite pop bands.

Aww, crap... hate to hear this. I loved this band when I was younger & still have Midnight Confessions near the top of my all-time favorite songs. I remember buying that album on open reel tape when it was released, used to play it on my dad's Miranda 7" rtr that he brought back from a WestPac cruise.

I just picked up an autographed copy of The Grass Roots "Live at Last" (from thrift store)

Thanks Rob!

Creed is a hoot!
