The Knife Thread.....

Benchmade OTF beater - CPM Cruwear steel. It's thin and lightweight, so I carry it all the time. It's in dire need of a good sharpening, but still fires hard and pokes, cuts, fidgets as well as I could hope for.

I need help from the blade and steel people. I routinely have our kitchen knives sharpened and just got some back today from someone I've used for many years. I included a Spyderco lockblade and now it's got some cross scratching that is new. I don't know my guy's methods, I'd rather not cry about it but fix it. Any recommendations?

I have a bench grinder/buffer.

I would try Simichrome polish with a microfiber cloth. They don’t look that deep, just make sure you hold it firmly in a padded vise and only polish in one direction. From the top of the blade down to the edge. Be careful!

I have a tube of Simichrome I use for turntable platters... usually hand-polishing while I watch television. I'll use a padded vise instead for this blade.

Thank you!

Just posted a couple dozen special military-use(d) commando fighting blades elsewhere at web for former SF comrades, thought I'd try same here (2-3 of the collection I did post here years ago). But cuz I'm relegated to using a frigging phone until I take delivery of a replacement laptop tomorrow or Thursday, my attempts to attach images today might fail .... still, I'll give it a try. I'll start in a fresh reply. If it works y'all will see em. If it doesn't work out, I'll post a reply stating as much.

Stay tuned.

If any y'all got questions about any or all of these, glad to reply and explain what's what with each and every.

I only have the two... the Puma mostly sits in the drawer. The Mini Bugout is the farmer's market knife, it mostly cuts salami, cheese, and fruit - 43 grams and fits in the jeans pocket with just the clip poking out, I forget I'm carrying it.

I keep this one in the van. If I remember right I found it along the C&O canal in MD while biking with my kids around 2010 or so. Comes in handy and is razor sharp.
