The Knife Thread.....

Can anybody tell me what this is?

1711569098824.jpeg

It says 'Hand Made High Carbon Stainless Steel' on one side of the blade, and 'Japan' on the other side.
The sheath also says Japan on it and it has a slit for a belt so I'm assuming it's a hunting knife.
Knife including handle is about 10" long.

I've had this for many years and I have no idea where it came from. I don't hunt but it's too nice to toss, so I just keep moving it from place to place...

Has a bit of a Sharpfinger vibe (Handles wrong tho)

Not nearly as storied, rare, or valuable as the other knives in this thread. It's still one that I'll keep forever.

I bought this during the annual Labor Day Flea Market in Hillsville, VA, in 1992. If you've never been to the Labor Day Flea Market in Hillsville, VA, you're missing out on quite a spectacle. The whole town is lined with vendors, and if you can't find it there you just don't need it or it never existed in the first place.

It's not my intention to let this devolve into a political thread (nor will the moderators let it!) but I will admit that Ross Perot was only one of two politicians in my entire life that I've actually voted FOR. Every other vote has been cast AGAINST the other guy/girl. When I saw this knife I knew I had to have it.

The knife itself is nothing special, typical of low-ish quality found at flea markets, county fairs, and the like. It's not the quality I bought, it's the memory. For it's intended purpose, this knife will serves me well.

Went to a private event at Fiserv Forum the other night. Maybe 200 people and no one else. Security at the door made me give up my tiny Buck Nano on my keychain cuz I refused to walk back to the parking structure. Knife blade is 1.75". Food was served and I was given a metal table knife, quite stout at that. Upon leaving I asked if I could get my 20 year old knife back. Guy said he didn't have it. I asked who did and he was evasive. Hope he enjoys the knife as much as I did. Silly rules.

Prob the only one I have that could be considered in a collectible category:

Sheriff’s knife. Carl Schlieper, Solingen, Germany.

Lovely hollow grind on it. Light, flexible and fast. Its a freaking scalpel in the right hands. Cuts pretty much anything you put in front of it effortlessly. Razor sharp. Germans can make great steel when they want to.

Was inherited from a relative that brought it back from Germany in the mid forties when they returned after the war. I carried it on a few of my tours as well….

Don't know anything about this except, I was at a gun show. An older man I'll guess in his late 70's had a table set up with about 50 different knifes, all appeared to be one off homemade. He said he made these and sold them for years, got to old and retired from knife making. Was now selling off his knives.
Had them all tagged with prices and then marked down prices.
He said make an offer,I offered,he accepted and I brought it home for around 85 bucks.

I came across this at a yard sale. It was on a table with cheap jewelry, broken watches, and such. Im not much of a knife guy, but I saw the pattern on the blade and it appears to be a Damascus blade? The blade is about 6", no identifying marks that I could see. A wooden handle which seems out of place to me. Anyone have any ideas about it's origin? Yes I bought it for not much. My son appreciates a good utility knife so I'll pass it on to him.

Here's my Beretta M9 knife. Guaranteed not to unintentionally discharge without the trigger being pulled while holstered or during handling.

That was a shot at the SIG Sauer M17/M18. lol

Seriously though, I bought two of these years ago when I got my M9 "Special Edition" pistol. One to use and one to display with the wooden display box. I freakin' lost the one I was using and when I tried to replace it, they were all sold out. I did see one or two for sale on eBay but they wanted a fortune for them. So I just have the display unit now. There were 1,000 made.

I still have the M9 pistol too.
