For audio storage, I sure like thier products (at least in pics). You choose the size and door finish. A good match for vintage MCM.

I just moved from my drafty loft in the ghetto to a high rise smack in the middle of downtown that has a sort of "Madmen" feel about it with the all-glass walls and blinds. The building is sort of a Mies knock off (there's a genuine one next door).
A few views of my new living room. I haven't even gotten around to hanging any paintings up, so it's just bare walls right now. The views are amazing out of the windows. I'm going as minimalist as I can, but I still love my Danish Modern theme:

Nice setup, John! I saw one of those cone floor lamps at a flea market today (after seeing one one American Pickers before leaving my parents' house). Price tag was $199.
I got a few good things this weekend, including a very cool 50s lampshade that's never been used and an excellent coffee table in a trade with a fellow AKer. I also have my eyes on a dinette that is making my mouth water, despite some missing items that I really wish were included.
Last weekend I got a great vintage Stetson fedora for $5 and a pair of Lane Acclaim two-tier end/lamp tables for $30.
I've got to find a cool mid-century sofa to replace my somewhat beat-up black leather overstuffed thing.

That lamp was a birthday gift from my girlfriend. We just missed having a smaller matching one...they would have looked great together. I have a thing for lamps, so I have too many. I haven't seen that episode of American Flippers, I mean, Pickers yet.

The sofa is a bit worse for wear. My car is filled with foam right now that I bought to restuff the cushions with, but my cats have done a number on the corners. At least they don't bother my speakers.

A few more things laying around the apartment. These are some of my coffee percolators. Most of my collection of mid century coffee carafes went in storage but I kept a few things out. The building in the background, The Wrigley Building, is actually where I work. Convenient!
This is a little record cabinet I found at the Salvation Army for $5, as well as some of my coffee carafes and a teak serving tray I found in an antique mall in Kent, Ohio. Behind the record cabinet is a little record stand, barely visible, and a fat cat in my listening chair.
This is a serving tray that was at a flea market across the street from my old place. The coffee/tea canisters are from a huge antique mall in Maumee, Ohio and the paper flowers are from a lady-friend who's also into vintage things.

I have a large spherical Inland coffee decanter with silver trim that matches yours, but it doesn't have the stand or the stopper. I could have bought the exact same one at an estate sale this weekend, but it also didn't have the base.
I almost forgot, I found a set of 5 excellent Libbey Collins glasses in a 40s/50s Hawaiian theme at that sale, too. Now I need to mix myself a Mai Tai.
Thank you...it's funny how my obsession with design and clean lines has learned to co-exist with my love of gear. For example..if you were to open up that tea canister in my last picture, you wouldn't find tea. It's full of the remnants of my old broken Linn Axis turntable which I parted out and a bunch of spare screws and knobs. That will probably change but when I was moving, it just seemed like a good place to dump things. And this apartment has HUGE closets....which is one reason I chose it.
Drink up! I'll bring over a vintage pitcher, there are several in the cabinet but not Hawaiian themed, unfortunately.
That's OK, I scored a really cool 50s clear and frosted glass lemonade set with gold trim at an auction last week. My mom got outbid on a great pile of vintage ties while I was running back and forth between the front and back yard sales rings. (for the fun stuff from the front yard, see the Radio forum at videokarma.org)
When I first bought the glasses, I didn't notice that they were made by Libbey. I didn't notice until I was taking the picture a few minutes ago that all five are different! Too bad the presumed-to-exist #6 went missing. I took a picture of them with the Towle/Supreme Cutlery tableware set I've been assembling for years. It's a knockoff of an old Tiffany sterling design.
I'm jealous. My love of tinkering (and inability to finish anything) seems to leave me with enough clutter to make me nuts.
Nice glasses. I've seen that flatware somewhere, too...nice stuff.
My tinkering took a nosedive after I found those Sony speakers and the VPI. I keep auditioning other speakers and go right back to the Sonys, so the speakers (which take up the most room) have largely gone away (from maybe 15-20 pairs at one time to about 5 now). Moving to this smaller apartment also forced me to cut my collection of receivers/etc, in half. There simply wasn't room and I was sick of having stacks of gear interfering with my the one system that I keep going back to.

I buy and sell so am always on a treasure hunt.Luckily i'm wired to be a minimalist and enjoy selling cool stuff more than collecting it.If I kept things i'd have to live in a huge house!
I love this piece I just found.It was a hanging lamp that I stripped out to turn into something else...or maybe i'll just renovate it.
I think it's a keeper and thought you all might like to see it.

Thanks! I just wish it wasn't the building I worked in. I think "wow, that's a beautiful building" then "do I have everything done for that meeting tomorrow?"

They really haven't moved more than a few feet from where we put them...looks a little different in there now, huh? I haven't gotten around to painting anything and I need something on the walls. Maybe a spindle clock? Half the gear is still in boxes in the closet where we shoved them in there, and I still haven't come across my Audire preamp. I have no idea what box it's in.
(Robie helped me move all the stereo gear up here...he's a local AK hero.)
