The Mid-Century/Danish thread

Is yours a recent manufacture? Mine is in nearly perfect condition after hosting three children and seven grandchildren for 57 years but yours is absolutely pristine.

Nope, it is from about the same time. We found it in our Mid Century Antique Mall the first week of April. What sold us on it was that it is in superb shape. We paid a pretty penny for it but the condition made it worth it. It was from an estate sale locally.

I got the artwork I ordered. I still have some moving around I think but I like where they are so far. The next to last photo is a panoramic one of the dining room and part of the hall and wont give a preview. You have to click on it to see the entire pic.

The pic with the chair is in our spare bedroom.

No 2 son needs to get busy, his work really looks outstanding.

I finally got around to mounting my thrift store Murano cased glass shades. Between the ceiling plate and power source above is lime and animal fur plaster, lath with fragile keys, rockwool insulation and a 1.5 inch redwood, crosscut planks. Home built in 1875.

I picked up a few things before Covid closed the doors on the shops. Some may find this hideous but I find it delightful. Just over 4’ tall and $10

This rain lamp was $31 but needed help. I’ll have less than $60 in it when completed

I have had two of those hanging on my balcony for two years....I keep meaning to get around to them but I never do. Too bad you dont live closer, you could have them.

It’s amazing what vendors on eBay are asking for these things. Crazy $$$$. I certainly remember them when I was in high school. What brought them back to my attention was that my 30 year old daughter wanted one and badly. We were 2 hours west of home and we stopped at a antique mall in Lewisburg, PA. There was a table top model in beautiful shape for $80. I took a short video and sent it to my daughter. She replied please please please buy it for me. So we did. LOL. Not a month later I came across this swag type. So if I didn’t end up using it I could always pass it onto her.
