I’ve searched the internet up and down and have found no info on the artist. Some other paintings of theirs have popped up every once in a while on eBay/Etsy but no additional background or clues to who the artist is.
Please let me know if you find anything. If that’s not hi res enough I’ll jump on the computer and find the original. Thanks!

Question: what is depicted behind "Jesus" ... the pile of brown "pod-like" looking objects sitting beneath the firey cauldron?
Can you decipher the artist's signature for me ... I'll need that to start my investigation.

Here's a project I did this weekend. Got these panels from a Macys store that was closing and was selling all their store displays. Got the idea to place them on the front porch to give the house more of a MCM vibe. I was in a NSW town called Pambula recently, saw in a store full of "antiques" a "Danish" "Magic Box" desk. This is the amazing desk that has all kinds of bits that fold out for all kinds of functions, but when you don't want a desk it folds inward into a piece of furniture that you'd be happy to put cocktail fixings on top of. It even had a retractable light! I hadn't seen one before... but in the process of looking at it discovered it was veneer, the grain directions just couldn't match up and I wasn't looking at a legitimate end finish of cut timber. But they were very happy to offer me this desk for around AUD$4500...
Later I found out these things are way more common than you might think, the Chinese reproductions anyway. Be wary!

I thought it also might be a stylized way of expressing "Lausine" ... very French (possibly Belgian, Swiss, Francophone African or Francophone Carribbean ?) surname.

That and the b;lack velvet medium further supports this piece being of The Americas, not Africa or Europe. Jamaican, Santa Domingan, Guadalupian, Dminican, Cuban, Haitian ...?
Hollin Hills is a local Mid Century Modern community of 400+ homes in Alexandria, VA. Every 2 years they hold an Open House Home and Garden Tour when maybe 12 families volunteer to let crazy fans tromp through their home (or garden) as a community fundraiser. Tickets for the 2026 Tour sold out VERY early, and yesterday was a cool but clear day so off we went ... in TRouble, our 1980 Triumph TR8 Roadster. There was a cars and coffee event 9-11Am before the tour, and the tour kicked off at Noon.
Generally there are tours home in clusters around the community, so we drove TRouble around and did a fair bit of walking - and she was a big hit!
This guy had a bit of a music studio in his living room!
Very cool backyard garden
Most MCM home are known for the glass walls with views of nicely designed green spaces
Hollin Hills is unusual in that it wasn't all bulldozed flat before construction began - the ground was left with hills and valleys
and houses were sited in various directions so windows didn't look into the neighbors home. So, there was lots of walking
and going up and down steps to homes on hills, and sadly, my knee started acting up mid-afternoon and we called it short
without seeing all the homes on the tour this year! Its our 4th or 5th time we've done the tour - always fun!

All day long. We did the Cars & Coffee event 9-11, then drove it to a cluster, parked, walked a couple homes,
then 20 or 30 mins later, started it again, drove to another cluster, then repeated!
A mostly sunny cool day, top down - we got a lot of smiles and waves on Saturday!
