I see you found that, too. Excellent work! Yes, it proves that just about everything is somewhere online. Hell, I even found a copy (lossy, alas) of the entire Stephen David Heitkotter album (Heitkotter/Ego/1971) out there...way fewer than even 100 of those pressed. (we think there were 10, originally, now 4-5 known)

It is not Aretha. In fact, just as Aretha, by many estimates, is considered the greatest female "Northern" soul singer, many collectors/afficianados of soul sides regard the artist in question as the greatest female "Deep", or "Southern", soul singer. Heck, these ladies are the greatest singers within each of their respective soul subgenres, male & female, cuz there ain't no man, not even Marvin, who can run with Aretha, and that goes for the woman wearing those white boots & the Deep Soul male singers, including Otis.

All of that must amount to some kind of clue. Here are two more:

1. This artist started out, circa 1962, as a back-up singer at the Apollo Theatre.

2. This album was recorded on Macon, Georgia. Its actual date of release is in dispute, but it's either 1969 or 1970.

It's not Carla Thomas, but I was close, I think.
 
Well Mavis Staples jumps to mind right away. Can't think of anyone else I'd put up there. And it does look a little bit like Mavis. But I'm still doubting myself.
