:dunno:...wish I could tell one way or another. Who knows, may be a completely different genre, as some bands put out oddly unrelated covers (classical seems well-founded, though). Still looking at the label, philips and dg are a good place to start. I'll have to dig around the various brand logos...

I don't know- I think a hint is in order to progress at all, unless another member just happens to know it:scratch2:. Oh well, no rush:yes:.

awh, gosh-dern it. Shoulda known. Good eyes, though. Carlton didn't put out too much stuff, though they seem to have been a good company. Had no idea that line was trademarked, or exclusive to them though. I'd love to run into someone else with the album, though, as i've never seen another one.
 
I don't know if this will help, but here is a shot of the back and the insides showing the band. The artist and title have been blacked out. They appeared to the right of the open doorway on the front cover.

Rainy Day hints #12 and 35 (not a hint):

Previous band name was shared by another psychedelic era US band of the same genre which is more widely known... so they changed names to avoid confusion. The name change was accompanied by no line-up changes.

They cut two albums under the previous band name prior to this album, and one album a year afterwords under the same name used on this album, but that final album didn't see the light of day until the early 90s. The group disbanded the year of that final (as of then unreleased) release.

Formerly known as Kaledioscope, during which time they released two of the U.K.'s finest psych albums: Tangerine Dream and Faintly Blowing. Personally, I prefer the Kaleidsoscope LPs, especially Faintly Blowing.

I was waiting for you to come along before I had to give it away completely. I have Tangerine Dream and From Home to Home, but I'll have to seek out Faintly Blowing now on your recommendation. I'm interested in hearing the unreleased White Faced Lady now too which is described as a rock opera. I believe my hint was wrong on that, as it was released in '91 under the name Kaleidoscope and not Fairfield Parlour (presumably on CD only).

There was an excellent vinyl reissue of Faintly Blowing on the % Hours Back (U.K.) label - a stunning release w/ sound superior (IMO) to (at least my copy of) the original release on Fontana (U.K.). There is CD version currently available somewhere, maybe on the Repertoire label?

Anyway, it is highly recommended for fans of that certain "Gandalf's Garden" style of British Isles psych.

:scratch2:...any clues, like a genre just to move things along? could go many ways, from a visual standpoint...pop, indie, rock, even metal could use that as a cover... Trying to determine if that's a pencil drawing or charcoal, don't know if that would narrow it down, or aid in a search, though.

Oh, and not to go to off topic, but I just now noticed your avatar is a "comic" form of the three-way standoff in "the good, the bad, the ugly":yes:. Excellent film.
 
Clues. Yes, I'd intended to drop these on you an hour or more ago, alas, the afternoon got away from me.

1. Country of Release: U.S.

2. Genre: Folk-Psych (more "folk IMO, but I ain't a dealer pushing it on a "psych list" ... :D)

3. Artist: Female Singer/Songwriter/HippieGirl Trip

4. Label: Small to nonexistent, so-called "private" label. (read: the sort of thing pressed w/ funding from a family member, proceeds of sales of controlled substances, and usually named after one's self, a favorite cartoon character or pet...)
