Artist's first solo album early 70s had a song sounding a lot like one from America put out a few years earlier - giddyup!
Similar as a certain Hollies song that sounds enough like CCR there was a lawsuit.
Edit: seems like what I thought was a good clue may not be. I can't find it using the clue without artist's name, even though it did make #34 on the US Billboard Hot 100

Have a listen to this, it was the the America - Horse with no name reference I thought would have come up in a search.
This got disconnected and the I went directly to YT - got it finally, they show a static pic of the 7"

I'll pre-apologize for my offering, not a ton of lore around it. He made some decent Americana-esque sounds/songs, rarely successful even when hooking up with she.

English frontwoman for a punk band in the late 70's. This is her first solo album, released in 1981. She passed in 2011 sadly. With her band she was known for wearing day glo outfits and also singing about day glo. Edited for better clues. If these clues don't find it, then I am a poseur
