I did recognize it but still had to double check on discogs.

Brooklyn based. Discogs lists the genre as: Rock, Folk, World and Country (seems all encompassing) and Style includes Prog-Rock, the last thing I would categorize this band as.
Not connected to this release, but Lee Hazelwood released his last lp the same year this came out which was also classified as Rock, Folk, World and Country by Discogs.
Some days the Bear eats you....a large golden brown one.

Album from the mid 20 teens. Band leader is the son of a member of a leading post punk, new wave band who got going in the 70s.

Oh yeah. I totally forgot that I had a cover hanging. The new wave band in question was co-founded by Andy Partridge. Although he's not the father of this band leader.
