They're talking about making the stadium a permanent structure. As it is assembly begins in October. I even heard they are discussing the inclusion of a sound system to replicate crowd noises. It currently costs over $300 to play that course, so I heard, so we might as well get the complete experience.

I've been playing Ping i10's for a few years now but have always wanted a vintage set to hack around with. Just rec'd a set of Zing 2's in the mail (eBay), bought a new set of Lamkin's and can't wait to play them... after the thaw.

I still have my 1970 era blades in the basement and that where they are staying. Especially my 1 and 2 irons. They're better used for spreading butter anyway.

Excellent thread Cub!!

Bought a Calloway Diablo Edge senior flex driver (my first senior) off eBay ...used, excellent condition, 40 bucks. It has made my drives a lot more consistent, straighter, I swing a bit easier and if I have to sacrifice distance for accuracy, I'll take that any day. Approaching the green from the fairway rather than the rough is a big win for me. I am not a good golfer, but I try hard and love every hole. Looking forward to the 2015 season. Thanks!!

I upgraded my irons at the end of the season, and can't wait to get back out this spring.

I need a new driver. I see a reference to a Diablo Edge above. I'm finally happy with my irons and fairway woods/hybrids, but not all that happy with the driver. Maybe I'll give a Calloway a try, never played with one of those. I've had Taylor Made, Adams recently - but haven't carried a Calloway … ever. My 15 year old uses and X2 Hot and he hits it WAYY by me, sooooo…...

Nice! That's my next upgrade...a matched set of irons. My 2,3&7 irons are McGregor. My 5&9 are Ping. I have a 6 Adams. No 4 or 8 iron in the bag. :headscrat

Since I have had great luck with the Calloway...and let's not forget Phil, I believe this is the direction I will go. Not this year, maybe the 2016 season.
 
Tiger's at 50-1 odds at Torrey Pines, a course he knows as well as any on the planet. That's gotta be tough on the old ego.

I wouldn't necessarily disagree, though. I assume he's been working on his chipping for 20 hours a day. His head is gonna be so screwed up he won't know which end of the club to hold.

Lets see if he putts from off the green like he did last week.
 
Charlie Sifford has passed. 92 years. I remember watching him play when I a kid. He had an unusual swing but I remember he was really good around the greens. He was a great man. May he rest in peace.

Once again Tiger looks horrible. Already 2 over and that was with a chip in! Otherwise he'd be 4 over after just three holes and he's in trouble on the 4th. What in the world is going on?

Apparently his back is bothering him as well. I don't have the sound on but I just saw him grab at his back.

He just missed the green from 95 yards. Admittedly, it was out of the rough but a pretty straightforward shot. Strange days indeed.

Done for the day/week. I know exactly what he's going through with his back. I've had the same surgery and another that was worse. I said before he was rushing the process and unfortunately that is proving to be the case.
