Personally I think it's a very sad day for men's pro golf. I've never liked Jay Monahan, he's always struck me as a self important A-hole and now I can add sellout to that list.
Monahan's salary is $8.3M. He spent $65M on new PGA Tour headquarters building. This caused the revolt. At most stroke play events, players who do not make the cut do not get paid. Most lower ranked pros have to pay their own travel expenses. The result is that some lose money playing on the tour but are still able to maintain enough points to keep tour card. In other words, PGA pros from 65-120 rank are hard pressed to earn a living. Considering the amount of work that goes into earning a tour card, this was correctly seen as not right. Monahan was tone deaf in not reforming this pay system which drew attention to his own excessive spending and imperious attitude. LIV saw the opening. Now LIV owns a part of the PGA Tour.
Money talks , bullshit walks ! Where is the pride ? Where has it gone ? It’s all about money . They have lost the respect that I have given them and the game of golf .
Agreed. I was just looking for information on college baseball. Next page was how to watch it on Hulu Disney bundle $13 monthly.Just like every other professional sport except hockey. It's all about money and every league is more concerned with grabbing as much as they can with no regard for any integrity their sport may have had. What disappoints me is fans will pay through the nose, at every turn to watch watered down sports.
Phew. I'm glad Nick Taylor won the Canadian Open. That year Weir lost to Singh sure wasn't fun to watch as a Canadian.
I was thinking the same. Went to the range with phone and these comments . Made 2 setup changes:I'm starting to sour on hybrids and am thinking about getting out of the hybrid business. Hybrids sometimes fight me at the range and it takes a lot of effort to get them going. 5 wood works from the start. We shall see.
