Ok, this thread should't get too big. :)
ANyone have any of the JVC SuperDigifine gear?

For those who don't know, this was JVC's competition to the Sony ES and Pioneer Elite gear. The cd player in particular got some great right ups in the high end audio press.

I have presently:

Cassette Deck:

CD Player:

Receiver:

BTW, all this stuff links together so that you can have one touch operation. Wanna record off cd? Just cue up your cd player, hit record on the tape deck, and it starts the cd playing automatically.

Just a bump on this. Not expecting tons of responses, but this gear deserves some love!

I have the RX-1010V and the FX-1010 tuner from the same series. The latter was bought purely because it was going for a ridiculously low price on Ebay, despite the fact I have no logical reason to own it. The receiver is currently working as an headphone amp. An ignominious role for a splendid piece of kit. One day I will hook it up to some speakers.

The first receiver from the series - the RX-1001V - is an outrageous piece of 'Christmas-tree-lights' display excess.

..thats not to mention the remote which came with these things.

I've seen some stuff on ebay and I'd had a brochure lying around somewhere.Nicely designed and supposedly good sound when a lot of gear was starting to go south,I dig it Rik!

I remember JVC during this time period for their JVC HR-S8000U VCR. I really wanted one but couldn't afford it. Looks like this gear matches the VCR. Nice.

I've got the TD-V711 cassette deck also. Although the record function isn't properly working at the moment, I still love it. It sounds great, looks great and works great. I also got it for a steal of a price. If the other components are as good it would be a great set up!

Funds permitting I'm finally going to get round to building a system around the RX-1010V next year so just a few questions for Bigerik if that's alright:

1:What type of speaker would you team up with it - Warm-ish or Neutral-ish? Listening through headphones the receiver has a typical JVC 'house sound' from that period which definitely veers towards neutral and clean.

2: This may be a daft question but the stated output at 8 Ohms is 120w per channel. Will it handle a 6 Ohm load OK?

3: Whats your overall opinion on the RX-1010V now after owning one for a few months?

Thanks
