The Weekly Photo

Nice image. Great that you printed it out. Too many images these days get taken and just disappear. I try and print my favorites, then give them away. Then there is a record somewhere and it's appreciated.

I've wondered about having the negative scanned so that I could do some post-processing with it. I'd like to try and remove some of the hazy sky, and bring out some of the contrast in the mountain, then have it printed again. Then get a nice matte board and a nice frame. This is one of the few images I've taken worth the extra trouble.

I post-process just about all the photos I share. The camera takes the photo. You make the image. It's like making art.

Here is one from Kauai. We were tripping around on a rainy day and came across this grove of Eucalyptus trees. The were behind a locked gate, but a resident that was leaving told us how to get around it. I waited there until the sun hit the trees. It is such a magical place, and so green!

Your theme for the week was green, so I left the image uncropped. The redwinged blackbird adds a little something to what would have been an utterly unremarkable photo.

This lens is turning out to be alright for general walkabout purposes, but if I want good pics of any birds I'll need something longer. That won't do at work, though.
