An' they ain't come up w/anything hotter than that since 19-feckin'-62 ? Come on. I wasn't born yesterday. The SR-71 is nigh on to 50 years old, I'd like to know what they've come up with since then that makes IT look like, well, a 1962 model...But my pay grade ain't high enuff, I guess. Think about it, though-15 years BEFORE the SR-71, we were just getting our feet wet in jets. The prototype F-86 flew late that year. Chuck Yeager just had broken the sound barrier. Most people had never seen a television. The new postwar cars were still about a year away. LPs were still in the future, as was "Hi-Fi", & they still weren't too sure where that newfangled radio band, FM, was gonna be.

Yes indeed. I read a speech somewhere on the WWW by the fellow who "made the Blackbird black," and the gist of his speech was that we now have the ability/technology to do anything we can imagine. He implied that the very stars were within our reach. Makes you wonder...

BTW, what do you suppose ever happened to the super high-performance Buick V-8's which were used to start the Blackbird's jets??
