Things you don't see anymore.

Chicago (bike) cops driving 3-wheeled HDs. Or, for that matter, any model of HD.

Never seen a cop on a three-wheeler, but in Vancouver they still ride Harleys (after a brief flirtation with Kawasaki some twenty years ago). And I saw a cop on a bike here in Palm Springs yesterday, but didn't get close enough to see what kind it was.

The ding, ding, ding the gas pumps made as you filled your tank.

Replaced with the ding ding dings left in your wallet as you cough up the tab for a tank full.

Something I haven't seen lately is mid grade or premium fuel for a few cents more than regular. Difference here is now averaging 40 cents per gallon for mid-grade, and 60 cents for premium. You won't see those prices posted on the street side sign either.

(sigh)

And worth mentioning, a Northstar V8 will really pitch a hissy fit if you try using anything other than the best, but it sure am fun to drive if you treat it right.

There must still be some somewhere but I miss barber shops that had a row of about four or five men cutting hair. A pretty girl is fine but those barber shops had a great manly atmosphere about them. And the smell of them.

A barber using a strop.

The line of seats where you waited for your turn while you listened to the radio.

In the 1960s even ordinary cars such as Austins had hood ornaments but now it seems to just be top priced cars.
