Thirty Two A7's

hhhmm.. no horns? I had just figured they are mounted inside the boxes behind the grills.. Yep.. they aren't worth a whole lot then if the horns are missing

Even if he had the horns, and no shipping, with a large lot like that, I couldn't imagine paying more than $500 or so a pair.. It would take a while to get them all sold for enough profit to cover the costs and hassles..

:thmbsp: they are

Look close at the one front pic, you can see the 511 behind the grill.

Also consider that there's no pics showing any wires exiting the box that would indicate externally mounted horns.

OH. yep.. there it is... good eye... Just figured in a big installation like these must have been in, a clean look would have been more appealing, so the only choice is mount them internally.

I'd still have a hard time giving more than about $300 or so each buying a large lot like this... I know they are worth more, but a bulk discount just seems in order.

It I had a large lot like this, I'd list a pair at a time $1000 BIN.. I'm sure it would still take a while to move them..

Talking to him now and PM me if you are interested in doing this together. I think he is willing to work to make it worthwhile for all of us.

My wife would kill me if I cam home with any more A7's unless I could be flipping them for a nice profit.. I think 3 is pretty much my wife induced limit..

Shipping these is going to be the real killer, especially if they all go to one place first, then distributed from there...

If they came up where I could do a local pickup then move them, that would be one thing.. but this is a whole nother ball game coming out of Canada.

hhhmmm.. however, I do have a friend that has a tractor and trailer now that I start thinking stupid thoughts... :scratch2:

Actually I have a class "A" and am looking into a rental. Once in the states we could find a spot and ship or let people pick up directly. I have discussed price and figure we could do reasonably well if we space the sales out. It isn't perfect but a decent return on money will be there...

My GF has already allowed me the Georgians and Altec 19's, so I am not going to put any in the house....

Interesting... Nothing ventured.. nothing gained... Braver than me.. That's a lotta jack on the line..

:headscrat my math may be off a bit...

15k investment, not talking time.... 16 pair.. sold at 1000 a pair, that's only a $1000 profit.. A HELL of a lot of work and time to make $1000

What about customs, duty, declaration of value, and all that sort of stuff?

I'm right there with Simi thinking that as a lot 500bux a pair would be about tops without knowing more specifics on the exact components and their condition.

Be prepared for 32 woofers needing rebuild before they'll play within spec.

I honestly don't believe the original cost on these could have been a whole lot more than the 20k BIN, i'm thinking somewhere in the 1200-1500/pr range to buy them new in the early 80's, probably less if you were buying 32 units.

I think it's great that somebody has a serious interest in getting these and splitting them up, but by all means do your homework and don't get stuck with a giant golden albatross. Buy them right, sell them right, and everybody wins. My advice would be to get a full disclosure on the driver models(and that all boxes are equivalently loaded) at the very least before discussing price very deeply.

Oops should have said $1200 a pair and total investment of $300 per unit, plus the tractor/trailer and warehousing. Damn Sunday, my brain is wonky.... I would def make a trip to look at them first too. For that kind of scratch it's not too much for due diligence. Customs coming into the US won't be too bad either.

Man, if i could get a set of these it would be amazing. Just think, an all A7 7 channel surround system. :D

Only need one....

When you gonna get some A2's for that center channel Allan?

Besides, I already got three bigguns for the front....

Reminds me of this Photochopped picture of this nice lookin lady with....::scratch2:

Nevermind.....:D

Maybe I just need to separate you from that 828.....

An A2 is a "little" bigger than what you got.. use yours left and right, and the 2 in the center.. then a pair of 7's in the rear.. :thmbsp:

BTW.. I sure wished I could manage to get those A4 boxes that are for sale on the bay right now...

Awwwwww heck Allan and Simi, just go all out with one ......................... or a few of these.

......... and Allan, thanks for accepting my rant, i took your advice and also got some insight from one of the "pros" and it seems my drivers are probably fine and my networks suck.
