The AC adapter of the power cord of my Thorens TD 147 has developed an annoying buzz. Does anyone know of a good fix. I would be happy to replace the adapter myself with a little advice. Thanks
At one time, Radio Shack had an AC/AC adapter #273-1690. This adapter was switchable from 18v ac or 24v ac @1000 mA, slightly above the OEM 16v ac unit. I have tried the RS adapter on my Thorens, and it works fine.
I don't believe the RS adapter is current but some Shacks may still have one.
Got the AC adapter from Radio Shack. I must say I was very impressed with their selection of like devices. They do indeed still have the 18v-24v switchable one (Cat. No. 273-331) which was the only choice as there is no 16v. But it works well.
They have a variety of different size pin ends which are provided separately for free when you buy the adapter. As you can see by the pictures they just plug into the end of the cord, although it is a right-angle vs the straight original. Somebody really has their thinking cap on over there. My only mild criticism is, the thing is huge! Thanks for all the super advice!
