Hey Jerry, there are several excellent threads here on restoring TD124’s. I acquired one a while back and it was non working. After following some of the instructions found here and online, I was able to disassemble the motor, clean it up and relubricate. It quickly came up to speed. I decided to complete the restoration. Mine had some water? Damage on the chassis under the tone arm bd. I stripped and repainted the chassis. Now I am about to reassemble…hopefully LOL. I have a woodworking friend who will build me a plinth. Mine came with an Ortofon RSW 212 arm and Shure V15ii cartridge. It works, but will have to evaluate it better. The tonearm is complete but needs some TLC also. I cleaned it up, but the antiskate spring is kinked a little and I need a Din connector. Nothing too bad.
I don’t know how handy you are, but all of this is to suggest you tackle some of this yourself.
